기장 가볼만한 곳Busan Metropolitan City
I went on a day trip to Gijang, Busan Metropolitan City before the cold wave hit. Busan is a place that can be reached in 1 to 2 hours from Daegu, so it is often visited as a driving course near Daegu. The destination of this day trip to Busan was Gijang, Busan. As always, I enjoyed traveling to places that I could go to slowly and lightly rather than seeing many places, so I will introduce a few places I stopped by in Gijang.
The first place I stopped by when I arrived at Gijang, Busan was Chilam Port. In fact, one of the purposes of the trip was the lighthouse tour, so I stopped by the lighthouse in Chilam Port to see the ‘Chilam Port South Breakwater’. There are three lighthouses in Chilam Port. They are all unique lighthouses: the yellow Conger Eel Lighthouse, the red Seagull Lighthouse, and the white Baseball Lighthouse. I didn’t know it when I visited, but Chilam Port is also famous for taking beautiful sunrise photos. If you are interested in sunrise, it would be good to capture the sunrise at Chilam Port!

A unique lighthouse shaped like baseball equipment, isn’t it amazing?
It’s great for a light walk while looking at the sea

Did you know that Chilam is famous for conger eel? That’s why it’s also called ‘conger eel village’. There are many conger eel restaurants lined up in front of Chilam Port. The most popular menus here are ‘conger eel sashimi’ or ‘conger eel grill’. During lunch time on weekends, there was almost always a wait at every restaurant. Among the many restaurants, the one we went to was a neat building called ‘Sanhojip’. I liked the bright interior with the glass walls, perhaps because it was recently remodeled. The neat and clean food served here made for a satisfying meal.
I liked the neatly arranged restaurant.
The basic seafood portion is not large, but it’s nice to taste.
The conger eel sashimi is served as a sekoshi with bones, and the mild taste of the bones that are chewed crunchily adds to the chewy taste. The conger eel sashimi is delicious when mixed with the soybean powder and vegetables that are served together and eaten as a rice bowl, or as a wrap. Most restaurants order for 2 or more people, but Sanhojip allows you to order for 1 person. We found out about this too late. If we had known sooner, we would have ordered 1 serving of conger eel sashimi and grilled eel and tasted them both. Next time I visit, I’ll definitely try the grilled eel!
The conger eel sashimi is served as a sekoshi. All the restaurants were delicious, I would like to visit again:)

Picnicer Cafe, a building built beautifully on a coastal cliff, really caught my eye. It’s a cafe specializing in seasonal fruit drinks and brunch. The coffee is good, but for some reason, I wanted to drink seasonal fruit drinks and look at the ocean here. The building is operated as a cafe from the 1st to 3rd floors, and no matter where you sit, the beautiful ocean of Gijang spreads out before your eyes. You don’t have to do anything in particular. I heal by drinking a delicious drink and looking at the wide-open ocean.
The building built beautifully on a coastal cliff catches your eye. The view from the cafe is pretty, right?
I couldn’t miss out on seasonal fruit drinks

There are many places around the beach where you can enjoy walking and exercising while enjoying the beautiful ocean. In particular, you can see the ocean up close along the coastal decks built here and there. When you get tired of walking, sit on a bench for a while and look around the beautifully decorated park. I like the landscaping that reminds me of Jeju Island, and it’s also fun to look at the sculptures installed here and there in the park. If the weather is good, I recommend taking a walk in the park rather than staying inside the building 🙂
Take some time to take a walk along the beach. The deck shaped like a sailboat was unique
It was a park where you could take a quick look around to help with digestion after a meal
