Children under the age of 18, including children under the protection of child welfare facilities (group living homes, child care facilities), children at living facilities for the disabled, children under foster care, children from boy and girl families, and children from households receiving basic livelihood assistance.
Children eligible for protection and children from households receiving basic livelihood assistance are supported from the time of registration until they are under 18 years of age.
Matching support from the government (local government) is available until the age of 18, but you can save in your own savings account until the age of 24.
Children’s savings can be up to 500,000 won per month, and government matching support can be up to 100,000 won per month.
Payment is possible if the accumulated points are matured after reaching the age of 18 and meet the purpose of using the savings.
However, if the self-reliance use, such as tuition, acquisition of technical qualifications, or housing, has not occurred by the age of 24, children’s savings and government matching subsidies can be paid without restrictions on use upon reaching the age of 24.
