Exchange money and pick up at Incheon Airport (Feat. Toss Bank)
Pick up currency exchange at Incheon Airport
If you want to go to the bank for money exchange, you have to visit before 4:00 on weekdays, but I didn’t have time for that. Probably everyone at work would agree.
I’m unemployed, but I wake up late, so I can never go before 4:00. If so, the best way is to apply for exchange and receive the exchanged amount at Incheon Airport on the day of departure, but there was no Kookmin Bank at Incheon Airport… (main bank: Kookmin)
There are Hana, Woori, KEB, and Shinhan Banks at Incheon Airport.
If you have a partner bank among these four banks, it is better to do it there. (I don’t have one..)
I wrote this article thinking that there might be people like me with a narrow bank.
No matter how much I searched for Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of Incheon International Airport, there was no Kookmin Bank, so I searched the Internet hard.
I learned that same-day exchange is possible with Toss Bank. (Like real honey)
If you use Toss, it is recommended to exchange money with a Toss bank!
Same-day currency exchange service
Amount that can be applied for exchange: up to 1 million won per day
2023.1.1 ~ 2023.3.31: Event preferential rate applied (USD: 90%, EUR, JPY: 80%)
Information on Tossbank currency exchange
Currently, Toss Bank is applying the preferential rate of the event, so there was no difference from exchanging money at the main bank.
Of course, there is a currency exchange office at Incheon Airport, so you can just go there and exchange money.
I exchanged yen because I was going to Japan soon. Since I was going to take Korean Air, I decided to pick it up at Hana Bank in Terminal 2.
(Korean Air is in Terminal 2)
Since the terminal is different for each airline, it is essential to check whether it is Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 before making a reservation!
ID is required upon pick up!
Kookmin Bank Live Next
Amount that can be exchanged: up to 1 million won per day
Pickup method: pick up at the branch or pick up by delivery
Kookmin Bank Live Next App
I have used Kookmin Bank as my main bank for a long time, so I often exchanged money using the Kookmin Bank Liv (now Liv Next) app.
I often visited the branch to pick it up, but it seems that there was no pick-up through delivery in the past.
If you apply and change money like that, the preferential rate is 80-90%, so I remember doing it because it was pretty good at the time.
ID is required when you go to the bank to pick up!
Shinhan Bank (Shinhan Sol)
Exchange limit per day: JPY 273,000/ USD 100-2,000 (approximately KRW 2.6 million)
How to receive: Pick up at the branch
If you use Shinhan Bank, you can apply for currency exchange through the Shinhan Sol app. If you have a Shinhan Bank account, the preferential exchange rate goes up to 90%, so you don’t have to exchange money at Toss Bank. And since the amount that can be exchanged per day is about 2.6 million won, it would be good if you want to exchange a lot of money.
Shinhan Bank’s currency exchange mobile safe is a service that is purchased in advance and used, and I have not used it.. (I have an account, but it is dormant ^^)
If you want to exchange a lot of money, wouldn’t it be better to visit a bank? (I don’t know because I haven’t tried it yet)
The more money you exchange, the more important the preferential rate is, so let’s find your main bank!
Happy trip everyone
