Today, I would like to give you news of a new policy that will help the youth of Gyeonggi-do.
It is a program called “Gyeonggi Youth Gap Year”.
A gap year, in a foreign country, is a year spent after graduating from high school, working or traveling to prepare for the future, to gain social experience before starting college. In Korea, the period between leaving the company and re-employment, or taking a leave of absence from university is usually called a gap year.

1. Overview
<Gyeonggi Youth Gap Year Program> is a program implemented by Gyeonggi-do to encourage young people to explore what they really want to do and take on challenges without fear of failure.
It is largely divided into 1st and 2nd programs. In the 1st phase, a common program with a structured curriculum is operated to strengthen the organization. It consists of a strength test, psychological test, and mentoring. In the second round, a self-directed program is conducted. You can participate in the program based on the plan described by each participant.
As for the project subsidy, up to KRW 5 million is provided for actual expenses based on KRW 3 million per person. I received a 5 million won subsidy and carried out a project to find my dream, and it seems to be a very beneficial program.
2. Program description (recruitment target, number of people, period?)
The number of recruits is 300 for the 1st term and 300 for the 2nd term, and a total of 600 people are recruited, and the recruitment period is from May 12th to May 31st. You can apply 24 hours a day within the application period, but the deadline is 17:00 on the 31st, so you should check carefully so that you can apply without missing the period.
Recruitment targets are young people (born between 1988 and 2004) between the ages of 19 and 34 who are registered as residents in Gyeonggi-do as of the announcement date (May 12). Please note that you can apply as a team or as an individual.
Recruitment schedule is to receive documents until May 31st, announce the first round of successful applicants on June 14th, interview from June 15th to June 29th, and announce the final selection on June 30th. . In the case of the 2nd term, the document submission period is the same, the first successful applicant announcement date is July 14th, the second interview screening date is July 17th to July 28th, and the final selection announcement is made on July 31st. 4. Selection conditions
The selection criteria are the most important. The selection conditions are as follows.
It is stated that the biggest goal is to “select based on the will and values to try what you want to do” in accordance with the purpose of the gap year program.
In the first screening of documents, the contents of the application form and plan are reviewed, and in the second interview screening, an in-depth interview is conducted on the contents of the first draft. As the screening process is conducted twice, it is necessary to meticulously prepare the application form and plan.
Evaluation items were also described in detail.
In the first document review, the application form and the plan are each awarded 50 points. For the application, 1) Career attempt: Efforts to set a career path, 2) Related experiences: Experiences of failure and what was gained through failure, 3) Difficulties: Difficulties in setting and achieving current goals, 4) Achievement goals: What you want to achieve through the gap year, and 5) Comprehensive evaluation These five items are divided into 10 points each, making up a total of 50 points.
In the case of the plan, project summary / goal / details / expected performance / comprehensive evaluation each take 10 points for a total of 50 points.
Even in the case of the 2nd interview screening, the evaluation items are the same as the 1st round.
In the first document review, 1,200 people, twice the number of applicants, are selected, and after the second screening, the final 600 people are selected in order of highest score.
5. Significant conditions
As long as it’s a good program, it’s expected that there will be a lot of people who want to apply. Be sure to check the terms and conditions before applying.
You can apply for only one of the 1st and 2nd semesters. Duplicate application is not possible. Also, if there is a discrepancy between the team leader and the team members, the team leader’s content will be the basis.
All documents issued after the announcement date (5/12) are accepted. This part seems to be the most important.
