The Ministry of Environment (Minister Kim Eun-kyung) announced that it will be accepting applications for electric vehicle purchase subsidies from 156 local governments across the country, starting from February 1st. The number of local governments supporting electric vehicle purchase subsidies this year has increased by 12 from 144 last year. , five local governments, including Yeongwol-gun and Hwacheon-gun in Gangwon-do, and Boseong-gun, Hampyeong-gun, and Jindo-gun in Jeollanam-do, do not support electric vehicle subsidies. 26 local governments, including Incheon and Daejeon, will accept applications for electric vehicle subsidy support from February 1. 99 local governments, including Seoul, Daegu, Jeju, Gwangju, and Ulsan, plan to accept applications in February, and 31 local governments, including Asan, Jeonju, and Ulleung, will accept applications after March after deciding on their own implementation plans.※ Local governments Please refer to Attachment 1 (electric vehicle purchase subsidy and supply schedule by local government) for detailed schedule, and detailed schedule will be updated regularly on the electric vehicle integrated portal. This year’s electric vehicle purchase subsidy is up to KRW 12 million from the national treasury*, depending on the local government, and KRW 4.4 to 11 million from local expenses. Won is paid.* Differential payments are made according to vehicle performance (Appendix 3: Current status of electric vehicle subsidy support recipients in 2018) The local government with the largest purchase subsidy is Yeosu City in Jeollanam-do, which receives up to 23 million won from the national treasury and local expenses. Cheongju, Cheonan, Seosan, Gyeryong, and Ulleung provide up to 22 million won, and Asan and Gimhae provide up to 21 million won. If you live in a local government that does not implement a private electric vehicle supply project or a local government where the supply supply is exhausted early, You can receive government subsidies (up to 12 million won, 500 units) provided by the Korea Environment Corporation. ※ Electric vans are provided after prior consultation with the target local government. Starting this year, the subsidy execution method will also be diversified. It is possible to execute subsidies not only in the order of application receipt or lottery, but also in the order of delivery and registration. The method of selecting support recipients is determined and announced by local governments, and subsidies through the Korea Environment Corporation are paid in the order of vehicle delivery and registration. .In particular, starting this year, in order to prevent delays in shipments from manufacturers and manage actual buyers, selection support will be canceled if the vehicle is not shipped within two months of selecting a support recipient. Therefore, electric car buyers should note that they should apply only if the vehicle can be shipped within two months. Those wishing to purchase an electric car should visit a nearby car dealership and fill out a purchase support application form and contract for subsidy support, and the car dealer will then submit the application. The Ministry of Environment operates an integrated electric vehicle call center (1661-0970) and an integrated electric vehicle portal to smoothly provide information related to the electric vehicle distribution project, and models that have passed the evaluation for future subsidy payments by the Ministry of Environment If this is added, the corresponding vehicle model will be posted on the integrated electric vehicle portal. Lee Hyeong-seop, head of the air environment division of the Ministry of Environment, said, “There are concerns that there will be a shortage of electric vehicle subsidies this year, but we must first monitor the budget execution status, such as timely delivery of vehicles.” “If a shortage becomes a reality, we plan to discuss ways to secure additional budget with relevant organizations,” he said.
