Hunger is working hard these days. It feels like driving an issue ahead of the 2023 Seoul Mobility Show, but we announced the EV5 to further increase the interest of the EV9 announced a while ago. Let’s see it together!
1. EV5 Appearance

This is the EV5 concept car announced at the EV Strategy Conference held by Kia Motors China on March 20th. A lot of Kia Motors’ latest design style has been reflected, and as can be seen from the front of the vehicle, it has a design language that is quite similar to that of the recently announced EV9. The EV5 is a mid-size SUV smaller than the EV9, and it is said that it will not be released in Korea as a strategic type in China at the end of this year.
There are quite a few domestic cars that are not sold in Korea, but if you look at Kia Motors’ vehicles, the Telluride sold in the US, Proced GT, a model exclusively for Europe, and Kia Carens targeting India… I think they will sell quite well if they are released in Korea. It was very disappointing that it was not released for various reasons, but I think the EV5 will be like that too.

The EV5, which has a boxy side profile, is manufactured based on E-GMP, Kia Motors’ exclusive platform for electric vehicles, and applies Kia Motors’ design language, ‘Opposite United’ design.

The previously announced EV9 introduced a system that rotates the second row chairs, and the same system was applied to this EV5. Of course, it is unknown how much the design and internal composition of the concept car will be applied to mass-produced cars, but considering the similarity between concept cars and mass-produced cars that Kia Motors has shown so far, it can be expected. For reference, coach doors are scheduled to be excluded from mass production.

The rear part also shows a concise design, and the trapezoidal design that becomes narrower from the lower part of the vehicle to the upper part is very impressive. Unlike the EV9, the ‘U’-shaped rear lamp is placed only at the bottom of the vehicle, giving the impression of weight.
2. EV5 Indoor

Although it is a concept, you can see the future direction, so if you look with pleasure, a panoramic display is applied to provide various contents and information to the driver and passengers, and various eco-friendly materials are applied to the interior finish to become a more nature-friendly company. I think we can get a glimpse of the direction Kia wants to move forward.
