T map fee / free use
T-MAP is SKT’s map service, but it is basically free for all Koreans to use. Anyone, such as KT, U+, or thrifty phone users, can download the application and complete simple settings without having to pay a fee to use it immediately for free. However, “free” here means only the information usage fee. The service fee is free, but the data fee when using the app is charged. SKT members will be able to use all data charges for free, depending on the plan, or receive unlimited free T-map data calls through additional services of KRW 1,100 per month.

Therefore, if you are not a SKT user or a subscriber of SKT’s supplementary service, you may feel burdened by the fee charged according to data usage when using Tmap. If you want to reduce T-map data usage even a little, you can download the entire map in advance while your phone is connected to Wi-Fi. About 500MB of map can be downloaded from [Preferences] – [Version/Update] – [Use download map] menu. If you don’t download it in advance, it will stream the surrounding map in real time according to the driving direction, increasing your data usage.

1) Installation through the App Market JFactory

To use the service directly, it is essential to download the app on your smartphone. The method of installing and downloading Tmap is slightly different as it is divided into Android phone and iPhone. For Android phones, SKT customers (including budget phones) can search and download T-map from [One Store] and members of other telecommunication companies from [Google Play Store]. For iPhone, you can download it by searching the App Store.
If you proceed with the download of Tmap installation from the app market suitable for the mobile operator and mobile phone OS, the installation is completed automatically. If the installation does not work properly, please check if there is enough storage space in your phone and check again if you are using the app market in the correct path.
If the app is not searched or the Tmap installation and download fails even after entering ‘Tmap’ or ‘Tmap’ in the application search bar, please follow the above precautions. One Store is not supported for KT or LG U+ users, so you need to download it through Google Play, and be careful as some SKT customers may not support One Store use.
When downloading Tmap, always select the new version with the latest version data and security patches. The old version of the Tmap app is not provided through the app market. If you access the [T map] – [Download] – [Install] menu on the homepage, the installation method through text message reception is provided as above. A download link for SKT users and a download link for KT and U+ users are provided at the bottom. Please copy and send the above link via messenger or SMS, or directly click one of them after accessing the site with a smartphone.
The link page for each link is shown above. The Tmap APK file is uploaded in Dropbox and anyone can download it. Click [Download] – [Direct Download] to download the APK file directly to your device.
When you open the downloaded APK file, a pop-up window appears stating that apps from unknown sources cannot be installed for security reasons. Here, click the [Settings] button to allow.
Alternatively, to install APK on your phone, access the [Settings] – [Applications] menu, click the three dots icon at the top, and click the [Special Access] menu. Select [Install apps from unknown sources].
Next, select [My Files] and change [Allow this source] to ON to allow installation of the downloaded APK file on your smartphone.
